Does anyone know about Sapphires??
Hi everyone. I just got off the phone with a jewelry store. Does anyone know how much a .75 carat sapphire would cost? I am pricing the Gem only. Clarity: AAA or WSI in dark blue. Any advice on this would be appreciated. I was quoted anywhere from 1,000-3,500.
That sounds very expensive to me; the actual cost of the gem
depends on several factors, including color, clarity, and the
absence of inclusions. I recommend asking several dealers
and also, if you just want the unmounted Gem Stone, you may
want to go to a gem, mineral, and jewelry show; they are held
all over the country at various times, and you may find dealers
who sell colored Gemstones. You could check with gem and
mineral clubs in your area for advice, as they often have
members who are experts on gemstones. I wouldn't spend
that much money until I had checked more thoroughly.
