Labradorite Gemstone

Lets talk about the difference between natural Sunstone Feldspar and confused "Goldstone", which is a glass product derived from natural or anthropogenic. I'll keep to generalities here, but hope to add some clarity to this matter before this brief article is spent!

It says "Sunstone is ... neighbors on either one Feldspar Moonstone and Labradorite ... "To add to this information, India is right now Sunstone particularly popular, with the best samples to be a deep orange / copper color with glitter inside siena great ~ very similar to adularescence and labradorescence in Moonstone and Labradorite, respectively. Stone the sun is a feldspar Crystal formed in molten lava, when a certain combination of chemical elements are present in certain high temperatures, and then downloaded to the earth's surface by volcanic activity. The Crystals are released as the lava becomes worn or breaks. While color preferences vary, of course, the color orange deep / Siena interior Shiller Fun with brilliant color as this is considered highly desirable.

Now, to contrast with Sunstone, let's shift gears and talk a little about Goldstone. "Many argue Goldstone is a Gem Bonified, standing next to the natural wonders such as Amethyst (Quartz in the family) ... but others say, "Man is not touched ~ gemstone." Goldstone was originally a medium brown / orange with faint glow, which is really small copper chips embedded in a stone base glass. Now, many times the stone base, the glass is natural glass, such as aventurine and obsidian. Most times, however, additives are mixed, and only remnants of natural crystals remain, becoming a man more product than all types of Gemstones. "This is NOT a jewel set in the earth, nor is igneous.

Now the conclusion: Sunstone and Goldstone ARE NOT THE SAME! Now, from the descriptions, can understand how different, no? Well, the vendors on the Internet, including but not limited to sites like eBay are selling Goldstone (glass w / copper particles) and natural Indian Sunstone (igneous, natural rock material mined in regions such as Oregon, USA and in various parts of India)! This is not only a disservice to our customers incredible deceptive (or perhaps uneducated themselves), but also a disservice to the gemstone, stone sun!

Sunstone is a Gemstone Jewelry incredible, and deserves to be named and identified correctly! Goldstone has its place, but is absolutely no substitute for Sunstone Feldspar ~ not even close! There are, of course, various colors of Sunstone ~ but really deep colors are discussing high quality India Sunstone ~ in this article that is most commonly confused with Goldstone. Oregon Sunstone Feldspar is also magnificent, and should be an entire article of their own ... someday!

Normally, a description is sufficient in our articles, but this month ~ I thought as an illustration would best. Therefore, I invite you to see for yourself ~ Goldstone is on the left, and Indian Sunstone gem is on the right ~ to see the difference? The spark in spots left stone (Goldstone) seems very different from the internal Shiller / brightness of the natural stone Sunstone right.

is the gemstone labradorite named after Labrador?

i was told that labradorite was named after the Canadian Labrador because that is where it originated from, however i cannot find any source or data to confirm this.

Yes, it is found there and that is a common way that minerals are named. Labrador, Canada is its type area. It's a lovely mineral!
