does anyone else have these problems with powder?
Hi! Ok so basically I have real pale skin, but no matter what I always end up with my face looking really dark and a ring round my face like I have a mask on, and i want to look more natural. I use the lightest foundation possible, and I though I did with powder but this seems to be where I go wrong. What I wanted to know is what powder do you use pressed or loose and why is this? And do you or have you had the problem of your face looking to dark as I am wondering maybe if its the pressed powder that makes it look like this and maybe I should try loose powder. The powder I am using at the moment is maybelline in translucent but perhaps this is darker than some other make up brands? any help would be great thanks
I understand your situation I really do! I am also very pale and every powder seems too dark. The Body Shop are good as they do their stuff in shade 001 which is very pale.
The trouble with translucent is that it doesn't have much pigment and any colour it does have is very dark. I found Maybelline a little too dark also.
When sampling powder, you need natural daylight to see if the shade is 'really' right so step outside with a mirror. Oh and always try on the face not the hand because the skin is a different pigment there.
It is possible to get good 'cheap' powders, just don't be hasty and sample like crazy before purchasing.
